Diane Leonard Two-Day Workshop
Impressionistic Painting
In this this two-day workshop, Diane will share many unique and innovative painting techniques! We will be painting using a live model with creative lighting and a beautiful still life setup. I will show you how to paint paintings that will SELL!
On Day One, you will learn how to block in a painting using translucent colors and new techniques. Originally trained in the old masters’ style, Diane’s foundation for painting retains a solid painterly technique. She will show you her special approach to painting using Liquin and large brushes to boldly create large strokes and vibrancy. The Class will be using Ampersand Boards, whose versatility have no limits! She will show you the many creative ways to use these boards.
Known for her incredible models, outfits, and beautiful still life set ups, Diane will share the secrets of how to how to set up the model, how to light your subject, and make a composition that creates paintings that Sell! You will learn how to block in a paintings using translucent colors and how to keep your colors vibrant!
On Day Two, the focus will be learning how to finish a painting with bold strokes and loads of impasto paint that bring the painting to life. You will learn how to mix beautiful greys and create the feeling of light on your painting.
Diane will also share for the first time some breakthrough techniques with the class. She is committed to make sure that everyone receives hands on attention! You will be thrilled with the growth of your work after this innovative class. It is loads of fun! You will leave the workshop with a new found passion to paint, secret techniques, and the expertise to take your paintings to a new level!
Some painting experience is recommended, but all are welcome! It is not necessary to have all of the colors that have listed! Bring what you have and a SMILE. And, since we are at an art store, supplies are close at hand.

Workshop dates are Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27, 2011 from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Arizona Art Supply, 4025 N. 16th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
The cost is $150.00 for the two days, plus $15.00 model fee.

New Impressionist Workshop
Diane will be teaching an Impressionist Workshop at the Art Alliance Gallery For Fine Art located at the Pavilions in Scottsdale , Arizona. This new spacious site will provide a unique setting for participants to learn how to add lots of color and light to their paintings. Using a live model and a unique still life setup, Diane will guide students to learn some of her unique techniques to achieve paintings that have lots of light and color and brilliant brushstrokes! The Workshop will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10th from Noon to 4:00 p.m. As in all of her workshops, they are lots of fun and there is plenty of "hands on" training.
